As stated in the Wildlife Tour 2023 description, the year brought about new focus, and our content became more Local Biology and Naturalist centered, and also a special focus was given to documenting our own processes for later formulating education curriculum for future Native Atlantic classes. NA Herbal Gardens played a special part in this change, as we focused a lot more on plant species this year, than we did in previous years. Learning what to plant when, how to harvest, developing fertilizer techniques, seed storage, and apothecary practices was an added world on top of simply learning to identify plant species. By the end of the year we were eating full meals from the garden, and washing them down with homegrown cucumber and ginger juice with honey (no bees yet, but we bought that local too)!!
